Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MLNOW Inc., an Ontario corporation operating as AlgoMap.io (“AlgoMap”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit algomap.io, sign up for the free roadmap, create an account, apply to or join the AlgoMap Bootcamp, buy a plan, or otherwise deal with us (together, the “Services”).
AlgoMap.io is a business name registered in Ontario to MLNOW Inc. They are the same company, not a parent and a subsidiary. MLNOW Inc. is responsible for your personal information.
The short version
- What we collect: what you give us (such as your name, email, phone number, country, and whether you are a student or working, plus your answers if you apply to the Bootcamp), and information about how you use the site, collected through cookies and similar tools.
- Why: to run the roadmap and your account, to contact you about AlgoMap and the Bootcamp by email, text and phone, to work out whether the Bootcamp is a good fit for you, to take payments, and to measure and improve our advertising.
- Who else sees it: the service providers that run parts of AlgoMap for us, such as our CRM, GoHighLevel. Advertising platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok and Reddit) also receive some of it; contact details are hashed before we send them. We don’t sell your information for money. Some U.S. state laws treat this kind of advertising data-sharing as a “sale” or “sharing”, and you can opt out.
- Your choices: unsubscribe from any email, reply STOP to any text, change your cookie choices in Privacy Settings, and email support@algomap.io to see, correct or delete your information.
1. Who we are
AlgoMap offers a free data structures and algorithms roadmap, lessons and practice problems, paid learning plans, and the AlgoMap Bootcamp, a paid coaching program for software engineering interviews.
We are based in Ontario, Canada. We have appointed a Privacy Officer who is accountable for how we handle personal information. You can reach them at support@algomap.io.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Roadmap sign-up. Your name, email address, phone number, country, and whether you are a student or working.
- Your account. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, profile photo and account ID with us. We store your progress: which problems you have marked as solved, and when.
- Bootcamp applications and call bookings. Your contact details, country and time zone; whether you are a student or working; your experience and goals; whether you are ready to invest in a paid program; your work authorization in the country where you want to work (for example, citizen, permanent resident, or needs visa sponsorship); anything else you choose to write; and the time you book.
- Enrollment and onboarding (Bootcamp students). The plan you choose, your payment schedule, your career goals and self-rated skill levels, your LinkedIn profile and resume if you share them, and a record of your electronic signature. That record includes the name you typed, the date and time, your IP address, your browser details, and the exact text and version of what you signed.
- Payments. Payments go through our payment providers (Paddle, Stripe, and Whop for some Bootcamp payment plans). We never receive or store your full card number. We do receive your name, email, what you bought, the amounts, the payment status, and a reference to your record with the provider.
- Talking to us. Emails, messages and call notes when you contact us or speak with our team. Where the law allows, calls may be recorded for quality and training; if a call is recorded, we will tell you at the start.
- Waitlists, giveaways and quizzes. The name, email and phone number you enter, and your quiz answers.
- Posts. If you post on our Post Board, your name, your email address and what you post.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage information. Pages you view, clicks, scrolling, time on the page, the page that referred you, your browser and device type, and your IP address.
- Approximate location. Your country, region and city, worked out from your IP address by our hosting provider and by ipinfo.io. We use it to show you the right content and prices and to check whether the Bootcamp is available where you live. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Campaign information. If you arrive from an ad or a tagged link, the campaign tags in the link (such as
utm_source) and the ad platform’s click identifier (such as Google’sgclid, Meta’sfbclid, TikTok’sttclidor Reddit’s click ID). - Cookies and similar technologies. See section 7.
Information from others
- Google, when you sign in with Google.
- Payment providers, who tell us whether a payment succeeded.
- Advertising platforms, which give us reports about how our ads perform. These are mostly aggregated.
- Personalized links. Some links in our emails and messages include your contact details, so we can fill in forms for you and match your visit to our advertising reports.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information for the purposes below. If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the right-hand column shows the legal basis we rely on.
| Purpose | What this involves | Legal basis (EEA/UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Provide the Services | Unlocking the roadmap, running your account and saving your progress, delivering the Bootcamp and paid plans, and helping you when you ask for support. | Contract |
| Stay in touch | Email, text messages and phone calls about AlgoMap, new content and the Bootcamp. See section 5. | Consent, or legitimate interests where the law allows (for example, emails to existing customers) |
| Bootcamp admissions | Deciding whether the Bootcamp is a fit, whether to offer you a call, and who to follow up with first. See section 4. | Steps you ask for before a contract; legitimate interests in running an admissions process |
| Scheduling | Booking, reminding you about, and rescheduling calls. | Steps you ask for before a contract |
| Payments and enrollment | Taking payments, preparing and storing your enrollment agreement, and keeping accounting and tax records. | Contract; legal obligation |
| Analytics | Understanding how the site is used so we can improve it. | Consent (for cookies and pixels); legitimate interests (for basic server logs) |
| Advertising | Measuring which ads bring people to AlgoMap, and showing our ads to people likely to be interested. | Consent |
| Safety and security | Limiting repeated form submissions, and preventing fraud, abuse and misuse of our systems. | Legitimate interests |
| Legal matters | Complying with the law, enforcing our Terms, and handling disputes. | Legal obligation; legitimate interests |
If we want to use your information for a purpose that is not described here, we will ask you first where the law requires it.
4. How we decide whether the Bootcamp is a fit
The free roadmap is open to everyone. The paid Bootcamp is currently offered to working professionals in a set list of countries where we can run the program well.
- When you sign up for the roadmap, we use your country and whether you are a student or working to choose which next step we show you, for example whether we invite you to learn about the Bootcamp. We also use them to mark your record in our CRM as a good fit for the Bootcamp or not.
- If you apply to the Bootcamp, we also use your answers to decide whether to offer you a call. Depending on which application form you use, these can include your work authorization status and whether you are ready to invest in a paid program.
- We give each application an internal lead value, which your answers (including your work authorization status) can raise or lower. We report that number to our advertising platforms so they can measure which ads bring in good-fit applicants. We report only the number, not your answers.
None of this affects your access to the free content. If you think one of these decisions got something wrong, email support@algomap.io and a person will review it.
5. Email, text messages and calls
When you give us your email address or phone number, we may contact you by email, text message (SMS) and phone about the roadmap, new content, and the Bootcamp, including with marketing messages, as permitted by law and by the consent you gave. Our messages come from AlgoMap and are sent on behalf of MLNOW Inc. o/a AlgoMap.io.
- Email: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. See our SMS terms.
- Phone: tell us on the call, or email us, and we will stop calling.
You can also opt out of any of these by emailing support@algomap.io. We act on opt-outs promptly, and always within 10 business days. Email and text preferences are separate: unsubscribing from email does not stop texts, and replying STOP does not stop emails. Tell us if you want both stopped. Even after you opt out of marketing, we may still send messages about an account, a purchase or a call you booked.
We never sell or rent your phone number to anyone for money, and we don’t share your text-message opt-in or consent with third parties other than the providers that send our messages. Your phone number may be included, in hashed form, in the advertising measurement described in section 6.
6. Who we share information with
Service providers
These companies run parts of AlgoMap for us. They receive only what they need to do that job.
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Google Cloud | Hosting, our database, file storage and system logs |
| Google Firebase | “Sign in with Google” |
| GoHighLevel | Our CRM: storing contacts and application answers, and sending our emails, texts and calls |
| Brevo | Email and text lists for some sign-up forms |
| Cal.com and Calendly | Booking calls |
| Paddle | Checkout for AlgoMap plans. Paddle is the reseller and merchant of record for those purchases. |
| Stripe and Whop | Bootcamp payments |
| Google Workspace | Preparing and storing enrollment agreements |
| Microsoft 365 | Sending some of our emails |
| Slack | Internal team communication, including call reports that name the people we spoke with |
| Zapier | Passing information from some forms to our other tools |
| ipinfo.io | Working out your approximate location from your IP address |
| Bunny.net | Hosting some of our videos |
Advertising and analytics partners
We use Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads and Google AdSense), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Reddit to understand how the site is used, to measure which ads work, and to show our ads to people likely to be interested. They receive information in two ways:
- From your browser, through their pixels and tags (see section 7): the pages you view, actions you take, cookie identifiers, your IP address and your device details.
- From our servers, when you sign up, apply, book a call or buy. We tell them that the event happened and send your contact details (such as email address, phone number and name) in hashed form so they can match it to their users, along with your country, IP address, browser details, ad click identifiers and the event’s value.
These companies use this information under their own privacy policies, which may include improving their advertising products. Google AdSense shows ads on some of our roadmap pages; you can control ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Content embedded from other services
Some pages include videos from YouTube and Bunny.net, reviews from Trustpilot, and fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads that content, the service providing it receives your IP address and browser details, and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
Other disclosures
- Professional advisers, such as our lawyers and accountants.
- Legal and safety reasons: when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or that it is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of AlgoMap, our users or others.
- Business transfers: if our business, or part of it, is sold, merged or reorganized, to the parties involved, who must protect it as this policy describes.
- With your permission, or at your direction.
Do we sell your information?
We do not sell personal information for money. However, some U.S. state privacy laws define “selling” and “sharing” broadly enough to include letting advertising platforms collect information through pixels, or sending them hashed contact details for ad measurement. To opt out, turn off Advertising in Privacy Settings and email us to be left out of the server-side reporting above. For U.S. details, see section 12.
7. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We also use pixels, tags and browser storage (such as local storage), which work in a similar way. Here are the main ones.
| Name | What it does | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
connect.sid | Keeps you signed in and remembers your visit | Necessary | 24 hours |
algomapUnlocked | Remembers that you unlocked the roadmap | Necessary | 180 days |
cookie_consent_preferences | Remembers your cookie choices | Necessary | 12 months |
countryGuess | Remembers your approximate country | Functional | 7 days |

_fbp | Meta Pixel | Advertising | 90 days |
_ttp | TikTok Pixel | Advertising | Set by TikTok |
_rdt_uuid | Reddit Pixel | Advertising | Set by Reddit |
ip | Your IP address, so the events we report to advertising platforms can be matched | Advertising | Until you close your browser |
_fbc, gclid, ttclid, rdt_cid | The click identifier from an ad you clicked to reach us | Advertising | 28 to 90 days |
uinfo | After you apply to the Bootcamp: your contact details and ad identifiers, so a call you book later can be linked to your application | Advertising | 180 days |
appointment_scheduled | Remembers that you booked a call | Functional | 180 days |
Google AdSense and embedded YouTube videos set their own cookies, which Google controls.
Your cookie choices
- Outside the United States, our analytics and advertising pixels do not load until you accept them in our cookie banner.
- In the United States, they are on by default, and you can turn them off at any time.
- Anywhere, you can change your choice at any time in Privacy Settings. We remember your choice for 12 months.
Some things are not controlled by those settings. If you arrive from an ad, we store the ad’s click identifier so we can tell which ad brought you. Google AdSense, which shows ads on some roadmap pages, sets its own cookies. And when you sign up, apply, book or buy, our servers may report that event as described in section 6. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, and use the opt-out tools offered by Meta, Google and the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada. We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control browser signals; please use Privacy Settings instead.
8. Where your information is stored
We are based in Canada, and most of our service providers store and process information in the United States. Some also use other countries. Information held outside Canada is subject to the laws of those countries, and courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there may be able to access it.
We use established providers whose terms with us commit them to protecting personal information and using it only to provide their services. Canada is recognized by the European Commission and the United Kingdom as providing adequate protection for information handled by businesses subject to Canada’s federal privacy law. When information goes on from us to providers in other countries, we rely on safeguards those providers offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
9. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or longer if the law requires it. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous. In practice:
- Roadmap sign-ups and marketing contacts: until you ask us to delete them, or until we stop needing them. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of that so we don’t contact you again.
- Accounts and progress: while your account is active, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Bootcamp applications and call records: for as long as they help us deal with you, including if you apply again.
- Enrollment, payment and signature records: for as long as the agreement is in effect and afterwards as needed for legal claims, and at least six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as Canadian tax law requires.
10. How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards that match the sensitivity of the information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to our systems, and established service providers. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and the relevant regulators as the law requires.
11. Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you, and learn how we have used and shared it;
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- Delete your information, unless we need to keep it for a legal reason (for example, tax records);
- Withdraw consent to marketing or to any other use based on consent, at any time. This does not affect anything done before you withdrew it, and it may mean we can’t provide some services.
Email support@algomap.io with “Privacy request” in the subject. To protect you, we may need to confirm your identity first, usually by asking you to reply from the email address we have on file. We will respond within 30 days, or tell you if we need more time and why, as the law allows. Requests are free unless they are clearly unfounded or excessive. You can also ask someone to make a request for you if you give them written permission and we can verify it.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca, 1-800-282-1376), or to the privacy regulator where you live.
12. Region-specific information
European Economic Area and United Kingdom
For the purposes of the GDPR and UK GDPR, MLNOW Inc. o/a AlgoMap.io is the controller of your personal information. The legal bases we rely on are listed in section 3. In addition to the rights above, you have the right to:
- receive a copy of information you gave us in a portable format;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information;
- object to our use of it based on legitimate interests; and
- object to direct marketing at any time, in which case we will stop.
You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
United States
Some U.S. states give their residents specific privacy rights. We extend the rights below to all U.S. residents, whether or not their state requires it.
- Categories we collect: identifiers (name, email address, phone number, IP address, cookie and advertising IDs); customer records (purchases and payment status); professional and education information (whether you are a student or working, your experience, LinkedIn profile and resume); internet activity; approximate location; inferences (such as whether the Bootcamp is a fit); and, if you apply to the Bootcamp, citizenship or immigration status, which some states treat as sensitive.
- Sources, purposes and recipients: as described in sections 2, 3 and 6.
- Sensitive information: we use citizenship or immigration status only to evaluate your Bootcamp application and to calculate the lead value described in section 4. We do not disclose your answer to advertising platforms.
- “Selling” and “sharing”: as explained in section 6, our advertising pixels and server-side reporting may count as “selling” or “sharing” for targeted advertising under some state laws. You can opt out as described there. We do not knowingly sell or share the information of anyone under 16.
- Your rights: to know, access, correct and delete your information; to opt out of selling, sharing and targeted advertising; and to limit the use of sensitive information. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
13. Children
The Services are not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old to sign up, create an account or give us your contact details. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
14. Other websites
We link to other sites, such as LeetCode, YouTube and GitHub. Their own privacy policies apply, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will make it prominent on the site or tell you directly before it takes effect. If the law requires your consent to a change, we will ask for it.
